I was on the fence about this necklace for some time, mostly because I wasn’t sure what the labradorite stones would look like in person. I finally made it down to see the piece in person and was pleasantly surprised by the quality! In fact, all of the pieces in the store looked a lot nicer in person compared to photos I’d seen on the website. I was concerned about the labradorite not showing enough colour, but the blue and green flash in the necklace I purchased is seen from many different angles over the entire surface. The flashes look different depending on the lighting and can be very intense and vibrant at times. The stone is quite translucent, giving it a deep, glassy, mysterious look. I really like how the stone can be so subdued at times, and glow so brightly from within at other times. I also thought the stone would be roughly cut and asymmetrical, but it is a carefully faceted and polished gem that is beautiful on both sides. The hand-carved bezel provides a very interesting contrast, giving the piece a raw and earthy look while simultaneously looking highly polished and refined. I really like how the pendant is placed on the chain so that it won’t move, it’s a thoughtful way to finish the necklace. It was also a nice surprise to see a lobster clasp on this piece, accompanied by a little ‘b’ charm. The size is great for the price—I prefer to layer when it comes to daintier bluboho pieces, but this one stands out so much on its own and really makes certain outfits pop.
