healing with honey

oh honey. one of mother nature's greatest achievements. humans have been collecting honey for at least 8,000 years and it's no surprise why. honey is incredibly versatile has been used in countless ways, from cooking and baking to natural medicine and personal care.

here are some of our favourite ways to heal the body and soul with honey.

for the badass on the go. soothe a sore throat and flu.

not only will honey help soothe the pain of a sore throat, it also has antibacterial properties that can help fight off cold symptoms. bonus? it's delicious.

  • 1 cup of hot water
  • 2 tsp. raw, organic honey
  • juice from ½ your favourite citrus (we love lemon, lime, orange and clementine)
  • 1 sprig of fresh rosemary
  • 1 fresh mint leaf
  • 2 to 3 thin slices of fresh ginger
  • ¼ tsp. whole cloves
  • ¼ tsp. ground cinnamon
  • ¼ tsp. ground cardamom

for the mama-to-be. calm any acid reflux or nausea.

honey can coat and heal your throat and esophagus, and help keep acid down.

  • 1 cup of hot water
  • 2 tsp. raw, organic honey
  • 1 tsp. juice from ½ your favourite citrus
  • 1 tsp. pasteurized apple cider vinegar (we don't recommend unpasteurized during pregnancy)
  • ¼ tsp. freshly grated ginger
  • ¼ tsp. cayenne pepper

for the backyard warrior. heal burns, cuts, muscle aches and dry skin.

why just eat it when you can nourish your body from the outside with honey? as the weather warms up, the flowers bloom and the wind calls your name, it's no wonder you've been spending more time outside. apply this balm on cuts or burns and let soak in before applying a bandage. for all other applications, apply balm for 20 minutes and rinse off. store in the fridge for future use.

  • 2 tsp. coconut oil, melted
  • 1 tsp. honey
  • ½ tsp. sea salt
  • 1 drop of lavender essential oil
  • 1 tsp. turmeric powder

heal the mind, body, and spirit with honey, nature's little miracle and summertime's sweetness.
