The Director of eCommerce is responsible for growing the online customer base by playing an essential role developing strategy and maintaining operational excellence in online marketing, merchandising, user interface, and digital product development. As Director of eCommerce, the role holds sacred the bluboho culture and values through fearless leadership of the team and by owning the experience of every online guest on the platform. The Director of eCommerce will work across various teams to create an online experience that anticipates guest needs and exceeds their expectations, driving revenue through increased traffic and improved conversion on the bluboho site, while simultaneously improving content and ensuring the free-spirited bluboho personality flows through to engage guests.

This role is designed for someone who is results-driven, can make fast decisions independently and is motivated by a strong sense of ownership and accountability. The Director of eCommerce will bring a track record of success in a direct-to-consumer business where you have developed and executed an eCommerce or digital strategy in a fast-growing business. This individual will have a clear vision when it comes to creating eCommerce strategies that align with company goals yet isn’t afraid to roll up their sleeves and get involved in day-to-day activities.

Naturally, you are highly organized with the ability to manage and prioritize competing projects or tasks. You possess technical knowledge, experience and are disruptive - keen on innovation and being best in class. You can adapt and evolve to the needs of the business, analyse, and interpret metrics and translate strategy into behaviors that drive sales and improve profit. This individual will be an energetic big picture thinker, entrepreneurial, passionate, and bring a keen acumen for delivering digitally.

What you’ll be doing:

Operations

  • Facilitate online operations, fulfillment, digital merchandising, and digital marketing
  • Direct the web team to maintain site content, search functionality, implementation of new products and launching campaigns
  • Develop, manage, and nurture relationships with strategic digital partners and vendors
  • Set performance objectives and fine-tune KPIs, with a focus on ROI
  • Identify and improving on our analytics tools to improve the business profitability
  • Plan, forecast and monitor annual digital marketing performance

Strategy & Planning

  • Monitor industry trends and fostering knowledge-sharing with internal stakeholders
  • Curate and manage the pipeline of innovative ideas and socializing concepts with the senior leadership team
  • Build business cases and financial models for new eCommerce strategies and programs
  • Develop superior user-focused digital products to drive business growth and ensure brand consistency
  • Implement demand forecasting, budgeting, and P&L management

People

  • Foster a team environment of ongoing learning, engagement and growth through mentorship and support
  • Create a dynamic, high-performance culture and recruiting, retaining, and growing talent
  • Building and developing talent within the team that has the business acumen and technical capability to deliver a world class, industry leading guest experience

Sales & Marketing

  • Understand online customer behaviour and optimizing solutions to serve the guest at all touchpoints
  • Collaborate with the brand team to identify areas for growth and conversion and develop a robust marketing plan to support new product launches
  • Measure the efficacy of programs and new approaches through testing and adapting to promote growth in all channels
  • Support the development of integrated digital and offline marketing campaigns
  • Work collaboratively with key stakeholders to problem solve and improve the guest experience

What you’ll bring:

Required:

  • University Degree in Business or Marketing
  • More than 10 years of experience developing and maintaining successful online businesses in eCommerce and/or digital marketing
  • Creative thinking, problem-solving and analytical skills, and the ability to thrive in a fast-pace environment
  • Subject matter expertise in web production, site operations, omnichannel marketing, UI/UX and SEO features and functionalities
  • Utilizes comprehensive knowledge of ecommerce technologies and tactics, especially in PXM, DAM, and sophisticated analytics
  • Strong skills in strategy, planning, budget and P&L management
  • Leadership skills in building, managing, and inspiring a cohesive high-performing team and the ability to identify, prioritize, and articulate highest-impact initiatives
  • Navigational skills for a cross-functional organization working with various stakeholders and embracing responsibility without a traditional authority matrix
  • A proven track record in running a successful eCommerce business that experienced significant growth
  • A natural curiosity and vision for the evolution of retail and the view that our guests can have the same experience we offer in store, on the web

Preferred:

  • MBA ideal but not necessary
  • Experience working in a retail, luxury goods or fine jewellery organization
  • Experience using the Shopify Plus platform
