Celebrating Earth Day

"Look deep into nature, and then you will understand everything better." - Albert Einstein

We love Earth Day! Tomorrow marks the 45th anniversary of Earth Day and we love that this event has garnered worldwide support. The first Earth Day was celebrated in 1970 to demonstrate support for environmental protection. It is now coordinated globally and celebrated in more than 192 countries by more than a billion people each year. Yeah!!

At bluboho, we are committed to environmentally conscious practices and we carry that through the store with the designers we work with. Many of our designers use reclaimed metals, recycled materials and responsibly sourced gemstones. They create their pieces using sustainable practices at all stages of production by doing things like using recycled paper products printed with biodegradable inks. If you are looking for ways to participate this year, we've come up with some cute ideas: Plant wildflowers. Choose flowers that are native to your area and plant them in your garden. Restoring the local plant life will help attract bird life and pollinators. Make a birdhouse or make a bird feeder to encourage the local bird population. Here are some cute ideas. maggie-cheryl-earth-day-bikingGo for a walk or a bike ride. Celebrate Mother Nature by just spending time with her. Being outdoors lowers levels of depression and stress, improves focus and strengthens our immune systems. We hope you have a beautiful Earth Day. If you have ideas on how to celebrate, we'd love to hear them below in the comments. xo
